Pakistan v England: Umpires decide to cancel match due to rain in first match of T20 series

Heavy rain in the first T20 match at Manchester ground forced the umpires to cancel the match due to a wet outfield.

In the first T20 match played at Old Trafford, Pakistan won the toss and invited England to bat. Their innings ended at 131 in 16.1 overs due to rain.

According to match officials, according to the DLS method, Pakistan will need 144 runs in 16 overs to win.

But due to a wet outfield after continuous rain, the umpires decided that it would not be possible to restart the match.

When the England team started batting, the first player to be dismissed was Johnny Barstow who was dismissed for just two runs off the ball of Emad Wasim.

David Millan was the second batsman to be dismissed for 23 runs.

The third player to be dismissed was Tom Baton, who scored 71 runs in an aggressive innings. The fourth batsman to be dismissed was Morgan who scored 14 runs. Iftikhar Ahmed made him LBW.

Moin Ali was the fifth player to be dismissed after catching wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan off Shadab Khan’s ball. The sixth to be dismissed was Gregory, who was stumped by Mohammad Rizwan.

All matches in the three-match series will be played at Manchester’s Old Trafford Ground.

In the last five T20 matches played between Pakistan and England, Pakistan has lost three matches while winning one match and drawing one.

The second match of the T20 series against England will be played on August 30 and the third match on September 1.
